Geeky Habitat

Heya all,
I apologise for all the maintenance windows in the last couple of days. As you all know I have been attempting to move to a new dedicated web server however we had a few teething issues. I am happy to let you all know that Secluded Habitat and Geeky Habitat are both now on a dedicated server which has more than double the CPU of the old dedicated server. This should mean that the site should be able to handle the extra traffic a lot better, as well as not be affected by the nightly backups etc.

While I was here I wanted to send out a big thank you to the guys at PC-Core.net. After searching around for a new host for the last few months I saw an advertisement for the guys at PC-Core on one of the websites that I frequent. After I signed up I will admit that we did have some technical issues. This was due to some network upgrades that were scheduled and affecting my new server. After the network was fixed and we reformatted the machine (just for good measure) all is working great. In the whole week that this occurred there was only one time that I felt that I was not getting the support I should. In all fairness this was during the scheduled maintenance window of PC-Core’s major network upgrade so I really cant fault them for that. Overall their support has been absolutely exceptional and I would really have no worries in recommending them to anyone.

When I was having issues Cody (the CEO of PC-Core) even popped into my support tickets to take control and assist. You know when the CEO is helping out on the technical side as well as the admin side that you are dealing with a great company. So if you are looking for a new host, whether it be just for a single website (with shared hosting) or whether you want something more powerful such as a dedicated solution do check them out (and check out there dedicated server specials from only $29USD a month).

So, let me know what you think, I hope the sites will be loading faster for you, I will also be working on really tweaking the system over the next couple of weeks to try and squeeze every bit of performance out of it (hehe as a geek it is my job to try).
