Hi Everyone,
This is a bit of a warning to anyone out there that is considering getting the current update to Apple iTunes or Apple Quicktime…
This evening (24/04/2008 10:30PM AEST) my computer tried to do an auto update of Apple iTunes and Apple Quicktime and my antivirus software (Kaspersky Antivirus for those who are wondering), picked up the virus as it was coming down from the internet to my computer (before it had even had a chance to execute thankfully… hence why I love Kaspersky).
Below are the snapshots of the virus that was detected. I will attempt to contact Apple Support to see what their thoughts are on this.
I will try to keep you all updated with details.

UPDATE: It appears that the download link that contained the virus has now expired and once I was issued with a new download link it all went just peachy. I have still contacted apple via the support site and will see what their response is. Will keep you all posted.
FURTHER UPDATES: I have received a response from Apple, below is the email:
